Your
input is appreciated
District 5's website and its
newsletter, The
Alagram, gratefully publish Al-Anon-related articles
contributed by and of interest to District 5
AFG members. Content is not AFG World Service Conference-approved
literature (CAL). Opinions expressed are strictly those
of the contributors.
"Take what you like and leave the rest."
We look forward to hearing
from you!
In fact, member
contributions are vital!!
If you need some extra encouragement, one way to think about
contributing a written
share is that it's a way of practicing the 12th Step in "carrying the
message" of
our program.
Please
contribute items via
email
such as:
- shares
based on your experience, strength,
and hope;
- shares
on a topic such as a step, tradition,
concept, slogan, your Al-Anon birthday, any Al-Anon topic you like!
- trusted
servants’ reports, announcements,
and calls for volunteers;
- notices
or articles about Al-Anon events;
- short
recovery sayings and inspirational
quotations (reference the source);
- meetings
changes (each meeting is
responsible for checking under Meetings
both by City and by Day
to make sure all of their name, day, time, location, and codes
info is up to date. Notify here
with any changes. Please
also inform of temporary
changes, which would be posted on the News page.)
The
Alagram is
District 5’s newsletter. In it there are member shares,
service
reports, announcements and information about upcoming events. The
Alagram is published every other month
and is
available to AFG members at their meetings. Have your Group Rep pick
up copies at the District
business meeting.
The District Website, in addition to the other functions
it
serves (check out the menu bar to your left for other pages on this
site), is another distribution channel for the contents of the paper
version of the newsletter. Not surprisingly, the contents of the
different versions cannot be 100 percent the same. For instance, the
circulating paper version publishes some things that cannot be used on
the Internet. On the other hand, the advantages of the Internet lift
space limits to allow more content, not to mention rapid response
capabilities. The News
and Events page of the website is updated monthly or
more often as material is contributed. Look there for Alagram articles as
well as web-only exclusives.

Find
out about AA
Al-Anon encourages
individuals to learn as much as they can about the disease of
alcoholism, especially when they are concerned that a friend or
relative drinks too much. Alcoholics Anonymous is a source of help for
those who wish to stop drinking.
In keeping with Tradition
6, Al-Anon Family Groups is not affiliated with any other organization,
including any other 12-Step fellowship such as Alcoholics Anonymous
(AA).
It is in the spirit of
cooperation but not affiliation that we offer the following links:
