Al-Anon Family Groups
The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends
of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope, in order
to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family
illness, and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.
Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity,
organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy,
neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for
membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary
contributions.
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do
this by practicing the
Twelve
Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics,
and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
For more information, please visit the
Al-Anon/Alateen website and Northern California World Service Area website.
Alateen
Alateen, Al-Anon groups for younger members, is a vital part of the
Al-Anon Family Group's program. Young people seeking help with problems
that arise when alcoholism afflicts a parent or other close relative or
friend meet to exchange experiences and to gain an understanding of the
alcoholic. This helps them keep their own lives and personal development
from being affected too deeply by close association with an alcoholic.

Alateen Home
Page.
Districts 6-10 Intergroup
The Districts 6-10 Intergroup is made up of officers, coordinators,
and representatives from the Al-Anon Family Groups in the Sacramento, California area.
It comprises Districts 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Al-Anon's Northern California World Service Area. Its goal is to encourage
the unity of purpose and the growth of Al-Anon and Alateen groups in
greater Sacramento area, guided in all activities by the
Twelve
Steps and Twelve Traditions of Al-Anon. The only requirement for membership in Al-Anon is that there be a
problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend.
